Ice Storm!!

On Thursday night, we got some ice rain. When I woke up on Friday morning, we had no electricity and everything outside was covered with ice. We had no school. So we went and stayed with my grandparents (Mamuma and Ajja) since they had power. It ended up that we were staying with them for five days. Longer than the ice storm I lived through eleven years ago. It lasted for four days. We were living in Vermont then and we had a wood stove. Our house was nice and warm but we didn't have water or light or anything like that. My parents put all the food outside in coolers since it was cold enough. We couldn't go to Mamuma and Ajja's house because they lived in MA. This time, though, we could drive over to their house and stay with them. Daddy had to return home a lot so that he could check on the pipes. He didn't want them to freeze. He turned on the gas stove and made a fire in the fire place. Near the fridge, it smelled really bad. But as soon as we got home yesterday, Mommy cleaned out the fridge and went grocery shopping. Our house is toasty warm now and school has been delayed two hours!
