The Beach Before School!

My friend Michelle invited me and a couple of other girls to the beach with her, the Tuesday before school started. We went to a beach called Good Harbor in Gloucester, MA. The beach was beautiful. Unfortunatly, I forgot to bring my camera so I do not have any pictures. But it was a good beach. The water was shallow untill about 20 yards out. But the four of us got too far out. It was so deep that i had to go under the water to touch the bottom. The I held on to Kristen, because I was scared. Sarah was swimming by herself and Michelle had gotten washed up to the shore. Then Sarah started to get pulled back! And she couldn't swim forward because the current was too strong. In a couple of seconds, me and Kristen were getting pulled back. I held on to Kristen and reached out a hand to grab Sarah. But her hand slipped out of mine. Then I let go of Kristen. I was terrified because now I was alone to swim. But Kristen grabbed me by the waist and she did the same too Sarah. Michelle had worked her way back out to us but stayed where she could touch. She had gotten caught in the current before a wave brought her to shore. She told us to swim under water because it was much easier. I don't know how but we made it back to shore!

After that, we went to the other side of the beach. Over there was a bridge and you could swim under it. The current was going under it so we just rode the current to the over and swam to the side. The water there was pretty cold so we started our way back to our towels. On the way Sarah stopped and picked something up. It looked like she was holding a bubble, but she explained that it was a little jellyfish. The jellyfish was transparent and had a little red thing in the middle of it. Soon all four of us were finding them. They washed up on the sand from the waves and just sat there. At first they were hard to find because they were clear. But after a while we would see them every couple of steps. We kept running ahead and squatting down to pick them up. When we got back to our towels, we each had handfuls of them. Sarah filled up a Zip Lock bag with salt water and we dumped our jellyfish in them. I got to take them home! My mom put them in a vase. Now they are sitting on my counter. They don't do much though. They mostly just spin in circles and go to the surface sometimes.

Anyway, the beach was really fun. It was a cool thing to do before school started and I'm so glad Michelle invited me!
